Storyteller. That's how many would describe J.A. Morrell and his approach to music. Originally a native of Monroe, Michigan, J.A. moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. During that time, he has written many songs, crediting the great Wayne Carson and Marijohn Wilkin as the inspirations to his songwriting style and approach.

Musically, he has shared a stage with a bevy of prestigious artists - Opening for Bob Seger and The MC5, Lucinda Williams, Dave Bromberg, James Cotton, Stanley Jordan, The Kingston Trio, The Dillards and more.

And yet, through every song he's written, every album he's worked on and artist he's worked with, the passion and drive to write and play his own music seemed to always live patiently in the back of his mind. His most recent work includes the deeply personal “Midnight to Seven” as well as the new 2019 EP “Somebody Turned On The Light.”
